I just recently viewed The Piano Teacher on Netflicks. A film by director Michael Hanenke (?) who makes disturbing French films, and Isabelle Huppert stars in a lot of them. It took place in Austria and followed the crazy shenanigans of a piano teacher from the School of Vienna, Vienna School, whatever. A prestigious music academy, i think exclusively piano but I'm not positive about that. Anyway what I took away from the movie was a newly found appreciation for Schubert the composer and Isabelle Huppert the actor. Even though she loves the director, he didnt exactly leave the biggest impression on me. This could be due to a cultural barrier, I dunno, but I viewed his other movie Home, which wasnt that interesting and read about the torture flick Funny Games which I have no desire to see (but I think theres an American Spin off). Anyway, I highly recommend this movie to those who view independent and foreign flicks alot, or book readers. Banned books. This film is not for the squeamish. Isabelle Huppert is amazing, and makes a bizarre character totally sympathetic. I laughed at the ending though. I read in an interview given by the actress that the director was mocking the idea of melodrama. I would keep that in mind before viewing this film. Anyway, no spoilers here. Beautiful soundtrack that I've been blasting since I saw the film. Even ordered some of Scuberts sonatas.
Also recently saw a documentary on the methods used to "cure gays" in the early 20th century. Psychiatrists ,churches and "support groups" with fancy metaphysical names I cant remember, employed methods such as shock treatment, suggestive hypnosis, you know, the usual. Gays had it bad in the 20s man. Especially women. Oh fun fact : In Nazi Germany gays were made to wear a pink triangle on their shirts to identify their crime against humanity. When the ally soldiers were freeing the camps or whatever, they left the ones with the pink triangles to serve out their sentence, as if they had committed a legitimate crime! Wikipedia didn't exactly confirm this. It actually says the gays were thrown BACK into prison for crimes they were found guilty of under the Nazi regimes. Terrible.
Anyway, I never knew the gays had it so bad! Man, the gay issue really is one of those big Human Rights issues I hope we land on the right side on.

What Is The Gay Agenda?
Im so sick and tired of hearing about this mysterious Gay Agenda. Can someone please tell me what the Gay Agenda is?
Response to It Gets Better
People, especially adults need to do something that is very difficult and probably impossible for most who are set in their ways.
They need to REEVALUATE their moral principles and assumptions. They need to scrutinize that which they derive their morality from, the bible, the koran, their parents, their conservative upbringing, WHATEVER it is. They need to take a cold hard look at it. You have children in our schools getting bullied to the point that they are taking their own lives. I was bullied, my brother was bullied, and pretty much any kid who doesnt fit into a standard of what is normal is bullied. it happens. we made it. most kids who are bullied make it. But you know what. we engaged in destructive behaviors. we had thoughts of suicide.
we all create teh society in which we live. we create the world. the media. the religion. the culture. its made up of PEOPLE. and those people are US. and when we let anti gay rhetoric become normal, and when we stand in the pulpit or in our living rooms over dinner with our friends spouting anti gay rhetoric, we create the enviroment that kills children.

a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.
I would like to add, IRRATIONALLY intolerant. Tell me, what is your beef with gays? Is it that you are simply disgusted by the picture in your mind of two people of the same gender engaging in sex? If so. GROW THE FUCK UP. This does not justify hate speech or hate crimes.
If you think theya re sinful and it goes against your religion, guess what, not everyone shares your PERSONAL belief system and not everyone believes in your personal diety. It is not your job to impose these beliefs on people, although if you are Christian it might actually be your job...
My point is, when you spout anti gay speech, you create an enviroment in which bulliies are justified in their minds to hate gays. Bullies dont just pop up out of no where. They are raised in the same culture as everyone else. the same culture that tells gays they are bad and sinful and going to hell adn that their love is wrong and that they should suppress all of their feelings etc etc
We have to change the culture. We have to change from a culture of intolerance to tolerance. Some of the greatest literary, scientific and artistic giants of our culture have been gays. We owe some of the BEST parts of our culture to them. Let me in a quote by James Baldwin
